Help Bring Outrigger Canoe Regatta Racing Back to the West Side of Hawai‘i Island!

Aloha Members:

I wanted to share with you some of the work that has been going on this year.

Keauhou, together with two other West-side clubs, Kai ‘Opua, Keauhou and Kai‘Ehitu—plus the island’s Moku O Hawai‘i Canoe Racing Association—have been meeting for months to bring regatta racing back into Kailua Bay for 2026 and beyond.

Regatta races have been on hold for almost three years because of problems with the old race course, and the entire community will benefit. The new course will bring thousands of participants and spectators back to Kailua pier, and will benefit the entire community. This is an expensive project, and we are asking everyone to read the attached summary, and donate.

You can donate in three different ways:

Here is a full press release on the project.  Thank you to Fern for writing the press release on behalf of everyone concerned, and thank you to Vern for coordinating this project with the other clubs and MOKU.

Sincerely, Bill Armer, President, Keauhou Canoe Club
